Tagged: college applications, css, early decision, fafsa
Date of webinar: Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 7-9 pm EST or 4-6 pm PST
Speaker: Dennis Zheng, Masters in Oceanography, currently lives and works in California.
Mr. Zheng is an ordinary parent. His son was not a perfect student. He was a high school senior last year and was preparing to apply to college. In order to help his son apply to his favorite university that also provided the best scholarships, Mr. Zheng spent a lot of time researching the application systems of American universities and scholarships and asking for advice. Through the joint efforts of him and his son, Mr. Zheng succeeded in helping his son get admitted to a top liberal arts college through an Early Decision 2 application. These efforts also got them top scholarships. Based on the fact that many parents don’t know much about university selection and scholarship and financial aid applications, he is willing to share his experiences with everyone and answer some questions you might have when filling out the FAFSA and CSS forms.
The webinar content includes:
Comparison of public schools and private schools
How to find a school suitable for a student
How to pick the right school for the Early Decision application
Introducing the hidden-gem liberal arts colleges
Application for scholarships and financial aid (calculation of Expected Family Contribution, adjusting family assets, precautions for filling FAFSA and CSS forms, how to correct and appeal)
Answering questions from the audience
